For anyone who suffers the nightly irritation of a snoring partner, news of a simple cure will be music to their traumatised ears. But perhaps the best news is that this new cure would cost just £3 - and at that price we're betting there'll be queues around the block.
The brain child of Hadi Al-Jassim, an ear, nose and throat specialist from Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust, the anti-snoring injection is being touted as a genuine alternative to painful surgery.
Mr Al-Jassim told the Telegraph: "As everyone knows, snoring can cause major problems for patients and in particular their partners.
"In most cases it's the men who snore and their partners suffer sleep deprivation and at the end of the day you have to keep your partner happy – though women do snore as well.
"It causes all sorts of problems between partners and leads to marital, social and health problems.
"I am delighted with the treatment because, until this, there has been no effective treatment other than surgery."
Called snoreplasty, the treatment involves an injection of sodium tetradecyl into the roof of the mouth (thankfully under local anaesthetic) and takes only two minutes to complete.
The chemical combats snoring by preventing the soft tissue at the back of the mouth from vibrating.
And if you need any more persuasion, Mr Al-Jassim adds: "After the jab, patients go home straight away and eat about an hour later.
"The jab can be given three times a year but some people find one injection lasts them a year."
