Woman having a massageIf you're usual Friday night involves Pinot, pubs and drunken dancing, you may want to think about a change.

And, thanks to a new trend in "slow partying", Saturday mornings may become an altogether more pleasant experience.

Yes, it's time to ditch the Red Bull and Vodka crammed nights on the town, and enjoy pillows and chilling.

According to The Times' Ruby Warrington, the Barefoot Doctor's Dub Spirit night in Ibiza is the hottest, or should we say coolest, way to party these days.

"People feel spaced out, relaxed, light-headed and light-hearted," she says, with the outdoor spa event turning into "a nice, chilled, dancey, party-type thing".

Sounds good to us. And journalist Carl Honore, who first published his manifesto In Praise of Slowness five years ago, said: "People are definitely partying more slowly now.

"During the boom, people would cram as many things into their nights out as possible, so that it all became a blur, and then wake up with a hangover, not remembering anything.

"When boom came to bust, it was like the lights going on in a club at the end of the night. We looked around and it wasn't a pretty sight."

Not a pretty sight indeed. So perhaps it's time to forget about hardcore and take a visit to the chill-out room.
