You've spent hours washing it, using straightening serums on it and giving the GHDs a proper work-out... and then it rains. We've all experienced the frustration of stepping out with luscious locks only to arrive at the office with a frizzy, tangled mess... but worry no more.
Science has found the solution.
Robert Langer, a chemical engineer who has won prestigious prizes in medicine in his search for the solutions to touch medical challenges, has developed a range of products that he claims will banish frizzy hair for good.
Professor Langer (you may remember him as the man who grew an ear on the back of a mouse) claims his range of sprays and creams will keep hair silky, smooth and straight even during those troublesome drizzly showers.
Apparently, simply spray or rub the product onto the hair after washing and before drying and your mop will be shielded from droplets of moisture, eliminating any frizzing, kinking or curling.
The professor told the Daily Mail: "Our thinking is that if we can find solutions for some of the toughest medical challenges, we should certainly be able to cure frizz."
After studying existing straightening products, each of which uses silicone as the de-frizz ingredient, Professor Langer, of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, decided to investigate new ingredients.
The No Frizz range uses a man-made, water-repellent compound called polyethylene glycol. Lighter than silicone, it coats each strand of hair, thereby preventing water from getting in.
Already available n the US, customers in the UK can buy the products online and prices range from only £6 to £15.
