A recent survey discovered that the majority of British women require the assistance of alcohol before getting jiggy with their partners. But it turns out it's not just the girls who have the odd wobble about slipping between the sheets, as a new survey by the makers of Viagra reveals.
Oddly the table for the world's greatest lovers was turned on its head by the poll, which revealed that the Spaniards were most worried by their erections, while the Germans were the happiest.
Commissioned by drugs manufacturer Pfizer, the study of 12 European countries found that 95 per cent of adults believe a man's sexual confidence is essential for a successful romp, while 84 per cent of chaps felt that sexual confidence came from the ability to please their partners.
The Spaniards were top of the list when it came to stiffness worries, with 83 per cent wishing they were harder. In contrast, only 40 per cent of German men wished for the same thing.
Dr John Dean, Sexual Physician at the London Clinic, told the Independent: "These survey results confirm previous research which shows that the hardness of a man's erection is intrinsically linked to confidence in his ability to please his partner sexually.
"Men need to feel confident about sex in order to enjoy their sexual experience, but to feel sexually confident, men also need to know that they can both satisfy their partner's sexual needs and get a hard erection."
It won't be much comfort for the boys, but at least it proves size really isn't the issue.
