For many Brits a hot cup of tea and a digestive is one of the simple pleasures of life. But it can be all too easily ruined by the sogginess of biscuit as those all too precious crumbs sink to the bottom of the mug.So biscuit dunkers throughout the country will be excited to hear of Felice Tocchini, for he is the man who claims to have invented the 'unsinkable' biscuit.
Chef at the Fusion Brasserie in Worcester, Tocchini insists that his Worcester Feast Funker can be happily dunked for 60 seconds and can even last up to two minutes before breaking.
While the not-so-secret ingredient, sweet potato, may not seem very appetising, its properties when mixed with layers of oat and flour dough's enables the biscuit to resist crumbling.
Mr Tocchini told the Telegraph: "We tried a lot of different mixtures trying to make sure the biscuit wouldn't break up and die in the cup – it's virtually unsinkable.
"I'm very pleased with the result and they taste lovely. I'm keeping the recipe quiet."
The biscuits are available in several flavours including ginger and lavender and cinnamon and ginger.
But you'll have to hurry folks... these dunkers will be unveiled at the Worcester Feast food festival on Friday and, as yet, there are no plans for a nationwide launch.
