Matthew WilliamsonThere is renewed interest in London Fashion Week this year as previous absentees are returning to the show.

Last week Burberry announced that it would show a collection and now Matthew Williamson, who has not shown at LFW for seven years, will delight the crowds with his spring/summer 2010 collection.

Williamson's boho-chic designs are popular on the red carpets these days and his recent collection for H&M sold out within hours. Having recently opened boutiques in New York and Dubai to add to his Mayfair store, his success continues to grow and it is something of a coup for London Fashion Week that he has returned.

The London show will this year move from the Natural History Museum to Somerset House and with the British Fashion Council's 25th anniversary part of the celebrations, this year looks set to be a triumph.

Williamson told the Telegraph: "London Fashion Week has always been very special to me.

"I am proud to celebrate with the British Fashion Council in its 25th anniversary and return to showing in London this September. I am really excited to be part of a fashion week that will showcase such a wide breadth of talent with a new home at Somerset house."

In an important year for British fashion it is fitting that London should welcome the return of its home-grown talent.
