They have been a stalwart of the underwear industry for many years, but now Marks & Spencer are in trouble over their decision to charge more for bigger bras. And a host of larger breasted ladies are ready to make their feelings known at this year's AGM.
The 'Busts 4 Justice' campaign, set up on Facebook, began when M&S announced that an extra £2 would be added to the price of DD-cup and larger bras. Thousands of women quickly added their support and now the group have bought shares allowing them access to the annual general meeting.
A leaked M&S email termed the decision the 'big boob surcharge' and, while talks have been held, Busts 4 Justice have failed to achieve the result that they want from the chain.
Co-founder Beckie Williams told the Daily Mail: 'We are very disappointed with their decision. They haven't listened to us as customers, so now maybe they'll have to listen to us as shareholders.
'Marks & Spencer is Britain's biggest lingerie seller so we want them to change their pricing for all the women affected. I still don't think they can justify this charge since many of their rivals charge the same price regardless of size.'
An M&S spokesman commented: 'We design the collections to provide as much support and comfort as possible. This includes special design features such as wider straps, greater support in the cup and additional material around the back area to ensure the delicate breast tissue is properly supported and protected.
'Customers have told us they are happy to pay a small premium for the specialist work to ensure suitable level of support, innovation and technology that goes into the bras.'
Specialist work or discrimination? Come on girls, next time you're shopping for underwear, perhaps you should choose a store where women of all sizes are charged the same.

What a load of shit you are talking love.
If you need a bigger bra, they have to use more material, so why shuld it be the same price.
wow what a great idea, i will ring Audi in the morning and ask if i can have the 4.2 7 seat Q7 for the price if the 1.6 A3. What do you think the answer would be - yep it would be go away you silly tit!
Get real sweetheart!

A mere man.
If a woman has true natural figure then the surcharge seems ureasonable.
But
For those who are obese, overwieght layabouts or have had ridiculous enlargements.Blame yourselves
Serves you right.

To say they are the britains biggest lingerie seller they took along them to develop bras for women, like myself, with a small back size and large breasts. Personally last time their fitting was so shocking and wasnt at all supportive that I havent returned........and to be asked to pay more I think not!!....

I think companies shouldn't charge extra for people with bigger bust,,, bon marche don't so why should marks and spencers squeeze an extra £2 they are dear enough without this being in a credit crunch

Well sorry ladies but for countless years us men with bigger feet have been paying more for shoes than men with dinky feet, its just a fact of life, the bigger the article the more covering it takes!

Do M&S charge more if you have long legs and need longer trousers? Don't buy from them anyway as the bras are rubbish. I buy from Bravissimo where they specialise in larger bras and the customer service and advice is second to none.

i gall at having to pay for substantially less clothing.....I am 8 petite, so my cothes have less materials cotton etc, but pay the same as a size 20....but i do have big boobs - only a 30DD but in comparison to the rest of me !! I will not be buying anything from M&S now...if this is applied then surely it should be across the board so my clothing would be less too, and my shoes -3's (or large 2 1/2's). Come on M&S.In relation to men paying more for bigger shoes ?? my O/H takes 13's, but 7,8,9 are the same price...??? or do you have yours made to measure in which case there will be extra charges...as per bespoke suits and dresses...

I stopped going to Marks and Spencer when I found their range for bigger busts to be absolute rubbish. All I had to choose from was black, white and beige sports bras. I'm a 32J and I went by chance to Bravissimo. They measured me, they were so helpful. They are a bit expensive but to get decent bras you do need to fork out a bit. Bras are usually about £30 there. I was impressed. Trouble is there's not many around. But Marks and Spencer have disappointed me for a while now.

I was recently measured as a 32GG by Bravissimo (professionals in the big boob industry and absolutely brilliant for availability, choice, customer service......). I went to M&S to purchase a bra only to find that although some items advertise on their label that they have sizes available to JJ, not a single bra over a G cup was to be found. On asking an assistant for help she advised me to go on-line. My one and only on-line option available in a 32GG was a level 4 shock absorber sports bra. I haven't been back. The additional charge have shown me that i made to right decision to stop shopping with M&S

I would like to know what customers are happy to pay a "small" price for the quality, and bla bla bla! Either they were under the DD bracket so wouldnt have the extra charge or they've made it up!! I definately have not seen anything about the extra charge until now! I WILL NOT be buying from there again, we are being disgrimiated against for having larger boobs! Im a 32E so I only have a small back to so thats pahhh too

This is ridiculous - as if bigger bras aren't expensive enough as it is. Bloody M&S - underwear is essential, especially for women with bigger boobs, how they think they can get away with this, I've no idea.
Just a word to the wise - brastop.com has all the usual brands - Freya, Fantasie etc. for up to 70% off, up to a K cup.
It has very limited stock, but it's worth dropping by every now and then for the occasional bargain. However, if you're a 34G - hands off, they're mine!

well Well Marks and Spencers you have gone down in my estimation... You buy a bra that fits you ,at the price Bras are advertised in the media ,and in your shops with no difference in price whether your a double dd or e or f or g.. think yourself lucky that these ladies have kept you going in bras over the years... and because they want to make the most of their assests in feminity... now Im 100% sure there will be a change of heart and they will be taking their business else where and come away from supporting your Company not only in the bra section but others as well. At this day and age I thought you would of used your head, not loosing customers, but increasing.... amazing what Companys stoup to ... to make extra income on the same garment... shame on you

I used to work for a bra manufacturer and the cost comparisons between a 34aa and 38G are huge. If you take into account the engineering costs of actually making a style work in such large sizes, the costs would be even higher. Much more of a differential than between a size 8 and 18 in clothes. For years smaller busted women have been subsidising the cost of the larger bust sizes. So maybe it's fair that they might have an opportunity to pay a more accurate price for their underwear for a change.
By the way I am a chubby D cup so have nothing to gain myself from the changes.
